| About
the Artist I
started pursuing photography seriously during
the summer of 2001 when I was given my first
35mm SLR camera, which previously belonged to
my grandfather, an accomplished amateur photographer
in the Chicago area. In the short amount of
time since I began my photography career I have
had the oppurtunity to work for two small circulation
newspapers, The
Woodstock Independent and The
Scarlet & Black. My work has also been
published in The
Grinnell Magazine through the office of
communications and enevents at my school. This
year I will be taking photos non-stop as I walk
across campus each day for my new position as
yearbook photographer. All of these endeavers
help me to learn new skills and hone my artistic
vision, which results in better photographs
when I am pursuing my real passion of taking
photographs of the beautiful and interesting
things of this world for myself and to share
with others.
As
I mentioned briefly I am a student at Grinnell
College. I am currently pursuing degress in
philosophy and psychology. I hope to go on to
continue my education at a graduate school and
eventually become a college professor myself.
But no matter what I do, I know that photography
will continue to be a true passion for me, a
fascination that is both exciting and rewarding
as it allows me to tap into my creative and
epxressive self as I try to capture individual
moments of beauty in the best ways possible.
